Get to know her more below:
1 | How did Spaceplan Design + Build start?
We started March 2018. Technically, we’re only 3 months old. Before that, I was a freelance designer, and the first few years I was working with a firm. After that, I met Alison Brandon Carlos, contractor siya and furniture maker. Then we got to partner up with Mark Montehermoso. We merged, kaya design and build na ‘yong nangyari.
2 | What made you decide to be an interior designer?
High school pa lang, inclined na ako sa arts. It’s more of a creative outlet for me, so I really wanted to pursue it.
3 | If you weren’t an interior designer, what would you be?
Makeup artist. Sideline lang, pero not all the time.
4 | Where do you get inspiration from?
Pinterest. Pero more on travels din locally.
5 | What’s your design no-no?
I’m not a super fan of pure symmetry. Gusto ko parang hindi palaging gano’ng kapantay-pantay or perfectly symmetrical.
6 | What do you do outside interior design?
I also have an online shop which I manage. And weekend bonding with friends and family.
7 | What’s your dream project?
Resort. Masakit sa ulo, pero I think enjoy naman, especially there’s a beach on site.
8 | Design is ____.
9 | What design style do you resonate to?
Right now, we want to push Boho tropical designs. We also want to promote local products and design. We don’t have to copy Scandinavian and European design styles because we have our own naman. We have our own style, even the materials. That’s what I’m pushing for right now.
10 | Design tip you’ll give to everyone.
As long as the design makes you happy, go for it.
