We Are Loving Pantone’s Color Of The Year–And You Should, Too!
The long-awaited announcement of Pantone Color of the Year has finally come. We say goodbye to the electrifyingly chic 2018 Ultra Violet, and usher the year with Living Coral (Pantone 16-1546), described by Pantone as “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.”
Living Coral is a reaction to the modern and digital world that made people’s lives virtually connected. With this new color of the year, Pantone’s color experts encourage more meaningful and intimate connections, more immersive experiences, and sociable and spirited activities. The “vibrant yet mellow” hue is a naturally occurring color in our environment—hence the name—and it just makes it more versatile than its predecessor. Can’t wait to have it in your condo units? We present you with three ways to incorporate Living Coral into your condo units.
1 | Work Of Art
Living Coral is bright and bold, and it can be intimidating to some. So start introducing it in to your home in small doses. Make it an accent color that subtly commands the attention of anyone who sees it, like an artwork predominantly done with the hue. Although this won’t be your primary color, pops of it in artworks, whether it’s a small frame or a large one, can make a space look centered and grounded. Imagine your gray or beige walls coming to life with blocks of Living Coral on a canvas.
2 | Throw The Fire
If you’re getting more comfortable with this color, you can throw in more accessories: pillows or throw blankets in the living room, trays, baskets, or backsplash in the kitchen, cabinets and organizers at your work station, or an arresting area rug in your sleeping area. Pair Living Coral with its complementary colors such as Teal, Turquoise, Raspberry, Navy, and Emerald; or create a serene and collected setting by blending it with Ivory or Saffron. To further help you with color pairing, Pantone also released color palettes that go best with Living Coral.
3 | Paint The Town
Living Coral is an appealing color making it highly applicable to home spaces. This hue injects an optimistic and intimate vibe. Enjoy the benefits of this color by painting your walls, or choosing a wallpaper design with pops of it to instantly make your space cozy, warm, and welcoming. If you want, you may also have this color for your window treatments or set of beddings–the possibilities are endless. Although you can have it plainly, having it as a part of a scheme, like color blocking with a complementary or a contrasting color, would be a cooler treatment to balance the almost-neon vibe.
