The 7 Essential Cleaning Tools To Keep Your Unit Dirt-Free!
If there is one thing all condo units have in common, it is their vulnerability to dirt and dust. Dirt usually builds up from food debris, soots, or fabric fibers and can form in the nooks and crannies of our units. Dust and filth pose harmful effects on everyone’s health, which makes it important to regularly clean our living spaces! Below are some cleaning essentials to help keep dust and dirt in your units at a minimum:
1 | A High-efficient, Compact Vacuum
If you have the space for it, get a compact vacuum. Maintaining a dirt-free unit requires more than just having a good broom or feather duster. Invest in an efficient vacuum cleaner to suck dirt from floors, carpets, or furniture pieces. Look for a vacuum cleaner with a robust motor system; the stronger its suction power, the more efficient it will be.
2 | Microfiber cloths
A cleaning essential every unit owner must have are microfiber cloths. Microfibers, unlike normal cloth fibers, have the ability to trap even the smallest dirt particles in any part of the unit. Microfiber cloths may be used to wipe and clean any hard surface even the grimiest bathrooms and kitchen surfaces!
3 | Non-Abrasive Sponges
A non-abrasive sponge is a cleaning essential ideal for removing stubborn dirt and grimes inside condo units. Soft and non-abrasive sponges work well for standard cleaning of any surface inside the unit, whether rough or smooth. To use this type of sponge, apply light pressure to clean off surfaces. The thicker body the sponge has, the more efficient it will be in swabbing dirt or grime.
4 | A Steam Mop
While there are various types of mops made from different materials such as microfibers, synthetics wools or sponges, electrical steam mops are more suitable to use in removing stuck-on dirt or grimes on the floors of your units. Steam mops have refillable tank inside where water is placed. It heats up water and turn it into steam, which gently lifts away stains from hard floor surfaces and even disinfects them after!
5 | Air Filters
High moisture areas in the unit such as kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms are where germs, bacteria, and molds often cultivate. One way to evade germ buildup is by placing air filters around your unit. Air filters can effectively remove dust, molds, and bacteria from the air. To further maintain a fresh and clean air inside your unit, change your vacuum and air conditioner filters frequently to avoid accumulation of more germs or dirt.
6 | Homemade Cleansers
Avoid the use of detergents and commercial cleaning agents by devising your own cleaning liquid! Mix 4-tablespoons of baking soda with 1-quart of war water and spray them to any surface for an instant spotless area. Leave it for five to ten minutes and wipe with a non-abrasive sponge to remove stains and dirt afterwards.
7 | Rubber gloves
Prior to doing any task to attain a clean environment inside your unit, always put to premium your own safety by wearing rubber gloves. Using cleaning gloves will keep your hands and arms away from allergic reactions or skin irritations from any chemical cleaners. You may also opt to wear a mask to avoid inhaling toxic chemicals some cleaning agents may have.
